A public health hospital based in Sasolburg is looking for various temps Nurses for 2 months period on weekdays 8 hours shift
Duties & Responsibilities
Professional Nurses = Perform pre-procedure assessments, coordinate nursing care, formulate patient care plans, and evaluate outcomes. Prepare the procedure room ensuring the correct supplies, medication, equipment, and instruments are set up and prepared for use and all equipment is in a clean and safe condition.
- observing, measuring and recording patients vital statistics and reporting changes in patients conditions to RNs and doctors.
- Providing physical and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Assisting with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, showering and dressing.
- Prepare patients: Perform a preoperative assessment, which includes reviewing medical history, taking measurements, and performing tests. They also disinfect the patients body and communicate with families.
- Support the surgical team: Assist surgeons during procedures, administer medications, and educate the surgical team on infection prevention.
- Maintain a sterile environment: Sterilize equipment and the operating room, and ensure that instruments are properly cleaned and stored.
- Provide post-operative care: Provide care for patients in recovery, and work with the surgical team to establish post-surgery care.
- Update patient records: Update the patients medical record.
- Clean and dispose of medical waste: Clean the operating room and dispose of medical waste after surgery.
- Monitoring general health and vital signs
Desired Experience & Qualification
Professional Nurse = National Diploma or Degree in Nursing or relevant qualification with at least 2 years experience in an ICU/theatre/ Obstetric & Gynae wards environment in a Public or Private Hospital. Registered with SANC
NB: MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ON SHIFTS FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT, BASED IN SASOLBURG or VAAL AREA
